HSPVA changed my life as a young, shy, awkward girl who needed an outlet, a way to make music a refuge. Coming from a junior high school that didn't allow me to be myself, I was able to express my love of the arts through the encouragement of my teachers and classmates. I walked into a sea of camaraderie and diversity like I had never experienced before. I was exposed to so much and I became more curious and hungry to learn more. It changed the course of my life and I am forever grateful.

I tell people even now that it was the best three years of my life.
