In Memory of Janet Lynn Alford (Class of '71)

Birth: Oct. 2, 1953 Death: Nov. 21, 2006

Janet Lynn Alford, of Hideaway, Texas, died on Monday, November 21, 2006. Jan was born in Houston, Texas on October 2, 1953. At an early age, she was drawn to the theatre, and became an accomplished singer and actress. She began appearing in school plays and local dinner theatre during her high school years. She then joined the New Christy Minstrels in 1972, touring the world during the years she sang with the popular folk group. She was the lead singer of several successful bands in Australia and Texas during the 1970s. Later, she was a cast member in the long-running Las Vegas edition of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas."

Jan also had a successful career in marketing and apartment leasing in Houston before moving to Hideaway to care for her mother during an illness. She continued to live and work in the Tyler area until her death.

Jan is survived by her mother, Helen Morgan Alford; her father Dr. Jack Alford; her brothers, Jack, James, and Jay; two half-siblings, Zoe and Jonathan; two nephews, and a niece. Private services for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests and appreciates donations to the Salvation Army in Tyler. In Memory of Lisa Ann Sherrer Sepaugh ('73? Drama)

March 9, 1955 - August 14, 2012

Lisa Ann Sherrer Sepaugh was born on March 9, 1955, in Houston, TX to Edward Austin and Patricia Ann Yenny Sherrer. She graduated from the High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Houston and then attended the St. Thomas University where she earned a Fine Arts Degree in Music. She loved music, people, and was very knowledgeable in the area of medical science. Lisa was a professional musician, working as a music teacher most of her life and was a member of the Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity where she served as past president. She also worked for a period of time as a C.N.A. at nursing homes and as a loan processor for the First National Bank and Citizens Bank in Carthage for many years. She was very involved in Girl Scouts, serving as a Troup Leader and Service Unit Secretary for many years. Lisa was a past secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #353. She married Charles Stanley Sepaugh on Sept. 12, 1986, in Houston and together they moved to Deadwood in 1995. Lisa was a member of the Deadwood United Methodist Church.

Lesa Dawn Doyle went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 15, 2015. She was born on February 9, 1956 in Lubbock, Texas to Mickey and Allen Arant . She was preceded in death by her father, Alan Arant and stepfather, George Henry. She is survived by her husband of thirty years, David Doyle; her mother, Mickey G. Henry; sister, Gayla G. Graydon; niece, Cassie Graydon; two stepsons, Marc R. Doyle and Eliot Jay Doyle; grandsons, Jacob Doyle and his wife Khrista, Matthew and Samuel Doyle; and great-grandson, Hunter Mickey Doyle.

Dr. Abbe Garfinkel, age 60, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She is survived by Jo May, her life partner of 32 years, brothers Rick and Steve Garfinkel, sister-in-law Marty Garfinkel, nephews Adam and Noah Garfinkel, her beloved aunt Helen Brounes and a large extended family. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm., Friday, December 11, at the Beth Yeshurun Cemetery Allen Parkway. In Memory of Sherry Ann Ridgway Munden ('74 Drama)

March 6, 1956-January 13, 2015

Sherry Ann Munden, age 58 of Friendswood, Texas died un-expectantly on Tuesday Jan. 13th 2015. Sherry was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 6th 1956. She went on to graduate from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 1974. Shortly thereafter on July 6th 1974, she married her high school sweet heart Barry Munden and traveled with him to Germany where he was serving in the U.S. ARMY. In 1999 she graduated from University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelors in Special Education. She went on to teach at Longfellow Elementary followed by Wedgewood Elementary in 2001 and most recently PH Green Elementary. She was currently pursuing her Master’s Degree but unfortunately that was cut short.

Sherry left behind three children and seven grandchildren. Jason Munden with his three children, Kayla, Devon, and Jase. Charles Munden with his two children, Kaleb and Riliegh. And Amanda Byrd with her two children, Seth and Alyssa. She also left behind her two siblings, Mike and Paul Ridgway.

Sherry was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a loving grandmother, a loyal friend, a dedicated teacher, but most of all she was a sweet, gentle, generous soul that was taken from this world too soon.
