After HSPVA, I went to New England Conservatory and got a Bachelor's in Flute Performance and then a Master's in Music Theory. Then after a year of trying to support myself, I entered the Ph.D. program in Musicology at Harvard. I became a musicologist, which given my love of reading, writing, and music, became my true calling. I taught at the University of Chicago and the Universität Basel in Switzerland, and am currently a professor at Harvard. Here is my website at academia.edu:
